I've been reading the Ender series by Orson Scott Card these days, since the movie came out and I had never read it when it came out as a teenager.
On the commute this morning, this quote from Mazer Rackham struck me:
"Life is full of grief, to exactly the degree we allow ourselves to love other people."
"En passant" is a chess term for the strategy of taking a pawn immediately after it has moved ahead two paces from its starting point. An interception of sorts. It is also a French expression meaning "by the way". Given that I am French Canadian, I consider this to be the wittiest of wordplays and congratulate myself heartily for it.
This blog is a collection of my thoughts on multiple topics covering technology, human behavior, gaming, movies, and the like.

Work Banter - Chapter 1
"I think my nostrils are rather acidic, given the color change in my fingertips." - Coworker01
I wish I was kidding about this quote. But sometimes the most in(s)ane comments are overheard at work, and I've been thinking for a while now about immortalizing this wisdom.
This one was from this morning.

World of Tanks - an enjoyable surprise
I've been playing World of Tanks regularly now for about the last year, having started mostly as a dare from a friend of mine.
...and I've been hooked.
